THANK YOU TO OUR EMPLOYER PARTNERS

Are you part of Houston's construction workforce ecosystem?

SERJobs is building strong careers and stronger communities by connecting people to training and employment opportunities in the skilled trades.

Whether you're a:

  • General contractor or subcontractor

  • Construction employer

  • School, community college, or training provider

  • Union or trade association

  • Supplier or manufacturer

  • Workforce or community-based organization

  • Government agency or foundation

—we'd love to connect.

Together, we can create pathways to family-sustaining careers while helping meet the growing workforce needs of our region.

What an unforgettable night!

Our Decades of Diamonds Gala was a true celebration of 60 years of impact, transformation, and opportunity at SERJobs. From honoring our legacy and incredible former CEOs, to celebrating the leadership of our current CEO, Liliana Rambo, to hearing inspiring stories of the lives changed through our programs — the evening was filled with connection, joy, and purpose.

We are deeply grateful to our sponsors, partners, community leaders, and every guest who made this milestone celebration so meaningful. Your support ensures that SERJobs can continue building pathways to education, training, employment, and long-term financial stability for generations to come.

Here’s to the next 60 years of transformation — together, where opportunity works.

Thank You for a Decade of Diamonds!

SERJobs’ Success Story - David DeLao

David DeLao’s journey with SERJobs is one of resilience, transformation, and purpose. A few years ago, David was wrongfully incarcerated and spent seven years behind bars. During that time, he faced unimaginable losses - including the passing of his son - and endured challenges that tested his faith, resilience, and hope for the future.

After his release, David was introduced to SERJobs through a program for justice-impacted veterans. What he found was more than just career support - he found a community that saw his potential beyond his past. At SERJobs, David regained his confidence and rediscovered his purpose through the guidance and encouragement of his career coaches. Their belief in him helped him begin to believe in himself again.

With renewed confidence and professional preparation, David secured a position as the Demographic Programs Coordinator at Career Gear Houston. In this role, he leads programs such as RISE and Mission Possible, serving veterans and justice-impacted individuals facing many of the same barriers he once did.

David’s story exemplifies the heart of SERJobs’ mission - offering compassion over judgment, opportunity over obstacles, and community over isolation. He now stands not only as a former client but as a powerful advocate and living proof of what’s possible when people are given a second chance and the right support to rebuild their lives.
