SERJobs is excited to announce that we have received a $200,000 grant from Bank of America. As part of their dedication to advancing prosperity for all Houstonians, their contribution will go towards operating costs associated with our Workforce Opportunity Center and our Workforce Training Center, coming soon.
Through SER’s education, training, employment, and financial empowerment services, Bank of America is helping uplift individuals with barriers to employment. This generous grant will allow SER to adapt our services and accessibility in ways that are better responsive to the community’s needs.
When it comes to middle-skill jobs, particularly in the construction and medical field, the vast majority of individuals do not have access to the opportunities that allow them to obtain the required certifications to enter into these positions. What’s more, Hispanic and African Americans are three times more likely to live below the poverty line in Harris County.
Through key partnerships, like Bank of America, we can work towards a future that breaks cycles of poverty and allows individuals, like our re-entry clients, the opportunity to succeed. We’re grateful for this grant opportunity and all of the success it will inspire for our clients! Bank of America is helping transform Houston into a place where option works.
