PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This unique training combines the CORE Curricula from the National Center of Construction Education and Research (NCCER) with a hands-on project deliverable and an OSHA-approved 10-hour safety training.

TRAINING Details

This course is perfect for someone interested in the construction industry or working in chemical plants. Available jobs are General Labor, Apprentice, Framing, Drywall Finisher, Drywall Installer, Painters, Roofers, Electricians, Pipefitters, Brick masons, etc.

The expected salary may range between $10/hr to $28/hr depending on experience and skills.

This training might prepare you to advance into future positions such as Superintendent, Construction Foreman, Carpenter, Equipment Operator, Project Manager or more.

SKILLS COVERED

The training concentrates in six main areas:
Industry Orientation, Awareness and Workers
Heritage
Safety: OSHA-10 Certification*
Industrial Math
Hand Tools, Power Tools and Material
Handling
Blueprint Reading
Hands-on Training
*OSHA-10: This is a 10hr training that teaches safety awareness and helps each worker recognize and reduce the risks of jobsite hazards. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Outreach Training Program for the Construction Industry teaches construction workers about their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job related hazards. Participants interested in this OSHA-10 have to complete the Job Readiness Training (one week).

Requirements

To have a computer, desktop, laptop or tablet with audio and camera, to take virtual classes.
Have access to Wi-Fi for virtual training.
Have basic computer skills (you will take a test).
To have a valid ID and Social Security card or birth certificate.
To have authorization to work in USA.
Low to moderate-income (proof of income might be required).
Self-certification might be required for unemployed participants.
No sex offender records.

Eligibility

Must be 18 or older
Proficiently read, write and speak English
Prefer High School Diploma or GED
Background friendly.
Prefer experience in construction and looking
for a job in the Construction Industry
