Description Details

The CLT Course provides students with the mid-level technical knowledge needed to understand the world of supply chain logistics and related core competencies, earning 21st Century, in-demand skills needed for long-term career paths in over 5.8 million supply chain logistics jobs. CLT is a nationally portable, industry-led certification that prepares individuals for front-line material handling and supply chain logistics jobs in fulfillment centers, warehouses, distribution centers, and factories. Graduates will earn the MSSC CLT certification.

The course is comprised of 3 segments:

  • Job Readiness Training: 1 week, M-F, 9am-5pm, delivered virtually/online
  • Hard skills occupational training:  3 weeks, M/W/F virtual, T/Th in-person 5:30pm-9:30pm at Lone Star College Transportation & Global Logistics Technology Center (1200 E Cypresswood Dr, Spring TX 77373)
  • Test: at Lone Star College Transportation & Global Logistics Technology Center (official proctored testing site for the MSSC CLT Certification)

Learn the skills needed to be successful in a logistics career, including:
Product receiving
Order processing
Inventory control
Evaluation of transportation modes
Dispatch and tracking operations
Product Storage
Packaging & shipment
Safe handling of hazardous materials
Customs

Requirements

In order to complete the course, members must:
Have a computer or tablet with microphone and camera
Have access to reliable internet
Possess basic computer skills
Be able to pass a drug test
Take a TABE pre-test Monday through Wednesday 1-2pm at
SERJobs’ Workforce Opportunity Center
Proficiently read and speak English

Eligibility

All applicants will be screened for eligibility prior to enrollment. Eligible participants must:
Be 18 years of age or older
Reside in Harris County
Have “low-to-moderate income” (documentation required)
Have high school diploma or GED
Have valid ID and Social Security card or birth certificate
Have authorization to work in the U.S.
Criminal backgrounds considered case-by-case (no sex offenses; prefer no theft)
