Lucretia’s Story: Never Too Late to Start Again

May 14, 2022 | Success Stories

Lucretia was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for over 34 years, after her retirement she decided that she didn’t just want to sit at home she wanted to give back to her community. She opened God Inspired Boutique, from there many doors began to open for her and she was able make meaningful connections which resulted in her becoming a board member of the Tri County Regional Black Chamber of Commerce where the mission is to acquire and disseminate valuable business information, resources, and tools necessary for Member Firms, working together, to gain Entrepreneurial Parity and Economic Prosperity world-wide.

Lucretia has always known about SER and the work they do to advance and educate the community and decided that SER was the best place to assist her in improving her digital literacy skills. She is grateful for the opportunity provided to her through SER and Unidos and stated that this has been a wonderful experience, she has been able to expand her knowledge as not being digitally literate has been a barrier for her in the past.

“Quitting is not an option.”

Upon completion of training Lucretia would like to open a Freight Brokering Firm “By Faith Freight Brokering Firm” where she can employ her community and teach them to build their own wealth, as she just wants to be in a position to help others. Lucretia would like those thinking about expanding their digital literacy skills to know that you are never too old to learn, “quitting is not an option”
