PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Houston Pediatric Dental Assistant School will combine theoretical consists of and hands-on skills training to equip students to be competent, skilled Dental Assistants with an emphasis on pediatric dentistry.

Course Details

Program is 11-weeks long and instructors are experienced, pediatric dental assistants. Each program is directed by a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist. After completing the first 10 courses, each student will be placed at an externship site for the 11th and final course. Students are prepared for the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners Registered Dental Assistant examination and graduate from the course completely ready to embark on a wonderful career in pediatric dentistry.

This training is perfect for someone looking to explore a pathway to a sustainable career in dentistry. The specialized curriculum allows graduates to secure a position in a dental office upon passing the exam at $14-15 an hour with projected growth of 14% over the next couple of years. They can go on to earn additional certifications through the State of Texas which allows monitoring of nitrous oxide, polish teeth, and place dental sealants. Graduates can work in both the dental office and hospital as a surgical Pediatric Dental Assistant. The instructors and administrators at the school are committed to developing relationships with the participants and supporting them through school and beyond by helping them get placed in a full-time job after they finish their externships.
