SER Soiree Lifts Houstonians UP

Feb 25, 2020 | News

The SERJobs team is winding down from hosting our most successful gala to date. On Friday, February 21st, at the Hilton-Americas Houston, over 450 guests gathered to honor SVP of Wells Fargo, Laura Jaramillo, and celebrate the heart of SERs work: hope.

Our 2020 Soiree – UP encouraged attendees to UPlift one another throughout our evening filled with inspiring guests. Astronaut Jose Moreno Hernandez encouraged our guests to shoot for the stars as he shared with the room how he went from an immigrant farmworker to a NASA astronaut.

Our attendees were then treated to the inspiring and emotional stories of three SER clients. DeMaria Palmer, Stephen Arogunjo, and Jose Valerio’s bravery and determination elevated the room.

The excitement and emotion behind our speakers culminated in the room lighting up with joy, philanthropy, and color as our La Chamba interns passed around confetti-filled balloons to every individual that donated to our social enterprise.

Energized from the on-site coffee at the La Chamba coffee bar and presentation, guests danced the night away to our live band Mango Punch.

We want to thank everyone who came together to make this evening a success. We are proud of what our team put together and look forward to seeing everyone at our 2021 gala.
